Aim. Is to provide Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) with the knowledge and confidence to deliver fieldcraft training to 3 and 4 star (or CCF(A) equivalent) cadets.
Qualification. This course does not result in a qualification and results in no eligibility for promotion at this time.
Course Outline. The course is 5 days long and concentrates on the planning of fieldcraft lessons for the 3 and 4 star syllabus, giving experience to CFAVs and improving knowledge. This will include ambushes, section and platoon attacks, orders, patrolling, defence and delay operations and the Safe System of Training. This course is being trialled in 2016 and will be further developed. Location and course content may be subsequently changed.
Eligibility. The course is open to all CFAVs; adult instructors and officers. Candidates must have attended the Adult Induction (AIC) or the CCF Basic (Qualifying) course, or have been exempted due to previous Regular or Reserve service.
Pre-Requisites. The following pre-requisites apply:
- Candidates must be familiar with the Cadet Training Fieldcraft and Tactics pamphlet.
- Candidates should have a working knowledge and experience of teaching fieldcraft, including the practical application in the field, up to and including 2 star (or CCF(A) equivalent).
There is NO requirement for candidates to hold an in date WHT as they will be involved in TEWCs only, no fieldcraft exercises.
Recommendations. Potential students must be physically and mentally prepared to spend the majority of the course outside involved in TEWCs. However there is no requirement for students to stay overnight in the field.
Courses. In 2016/2017 there will be 3 courses, with places for 40 students on each. This course is being trialled in 2016 and this is subsequent to change.
Application Procedure. Applications must be loaded onto WESTMINSTER by Counties or Contingents. Closing dates on WESTMINSTER will be strictly adhered to (this is as least 8 weeks prior to the start of every course).
