Aim. To provide CFAVs with the knowledge and confidence to be able to teach target rifle shooting to cadets and to coach cadets to competition standards.
Qualification. The Course qualifies for the NRA ‘Club Instructor’ award.
Course Outline. The course is 5 days long and concentrates on teaching and learning coaching techniques to enable cadets to successfully shoot the Target Rifle. It includes sessions on applying coaching principles, as well as their practical application on the ranges.
Eligibility. CFAVs must have attended the Adult Induction Course (AIC) or CCF Basic (Qualifying) course. The course caters for any adult who wishes to learn and develop their target rifle shooting and coaching skills.
Recommendations. It is recommended that students are familiar with the marksmanship principles and their application on a range and have previous experience firing the Target Rifle on ranges.
Courses. In 2016/17 there will be 1 course, with places for 40 students.
Application Procedure. The point of contact for this course is the ACF Shooting Advisor. Applications made by counties/contingents via Westminster. Closing dates on WESTMINSTER will be strictly adhered to (this is at least 8 weeks prior to the start of every course).
