Mission. To broaden and further develop the leadership, instructional and administrative capabilities of 4-Star (or CCF equivalent) Cadets.
Qualification. Successful completion of the course enables cadets to be appointed as Master Cadet at the discretion of their County Commandants / Contingent Commanders.
Eligibility:
ACF : The course is open to all 4-Star (complete) Cadets. They are to be at least 16 years old and in the minimum rank of Sgt. Cadets who are 18yrs old can still attend providing they hold the rank of Staff Cadet.
CCF: The course is open to all cadets who have completed APC (Advanced) with Advanced Infantry (Special to Arm Cadre) complete. They are to be at least 16 years old and in the minimum rank of Sgt.
Pre Course Requirements. Cadets must be shown as passed ACF 4 star / CCF APC Advanced and hold an in date (valid for the duration of the course) Weapon Handling Test (WHT) certificate on the L98A2 Cadet GP Rifle also an indate Weapon Handling Test (WHT) on Smoke Grenade all Types qualification. This must also be recorded within Qualifications on Westminster (Students who are flagged on Westminster indicating that their WHT is not current at 2 weeks prior to their course start date will be subject to rejection off the course).
Cadets attending this course must have a sound understanding of section attacks, patrolling and the orders process as well as a high standard of fieldcraft skills and navigation. They should be comfortable acting as a Section Commander and 2IC. This is a physically arduous and mentally demanding course. Candidates must ensure that they are adequately prepared and physically fit.
Closing Date for Applications. Closing dates on WESTMINSTER will be at least 8 weeks prior to the start of every course. Candidates without 4 star/APC Advanced pass on WESTMINSTER will be rejected at this stage. CCF applications must be loaded on to WESTMINSTER by Bde or CTT. Contingents are not to load applicants directly.
